Ooops! I almost did it again! (pun intended)
I have 4-5 projects lying around everywhere, due to wife being on vacation.
Thousand Sons, Black Legion, Night Lords, more Death Guard, Zone Mortalis and Realm of Battle. I will have to show some real progress soon!
Here's a squad of 8 Rubic Marines and their sorcerer. I've shown these before, but they're on the verge of being completed now! In the back row I have a converted sorcerer lord, and up front I have my second aspiring sorcerer in Black Legion colours? Curious...
That will be a post for another day!
Cheers!

Daemonic reinforcements!
It was a really long time ago since I got some Daemon reinforcements - last time must have been when I started this blog! This time it's not from my parents place in Sweden, but new figures from Games Workshop!
Not only did I have so many over that I could cover the greater daemon, but I also made a lot of wound markers for my nurgle cohort.
I actually managed get some paints on the figures the same weekend I got the figures, but that will be shown in another post.
Until next time!
Cheers!
Plastic plaguebearers! Something I have been waiting for for a long time! Not only that, but also plastic nurglings, flamers of tzeentch and screamers of tzeentch! along with this there was also a couple of finecast releases (among them a Great Unclean One) and rules updates for daemons.
The nurglings looks great! In the box of nurglings and plaguebearers you get so many single nurglings that you can spread them out on the bases on the rest of your army.

Collection progress
Rory is well again, and we got to play a game of 6th ed. Made the lists for trying out a lot of the new rules, including tanks and monstrous creatures. We played objectives, in a mission that allowes tanks to hold. Making my Leman Russ tanks kind of special.
Deployment was kind of straight forward, two armies facing each other.
Aaaand about here I realized the game was soon to be finished...
I gave up in turn 4, with no chance of winning. Good game Rory, I'll get you next time...
Other than playtesting a lot, I also try to get my unpainted figures done (and trust me, there are a lot of them). I still had a gift voucher which i spend on a unit of Death Guards. I wanted to try an Epidemius list with Plague Marine allies. Went quite well, but the list depends too much on one guy, so this is a list I won't be playing again soon. Perhaps I include him in Apocalypse games.
Speaking of which, Mons invited me to a huge Apocalypse game next week (don't remember if I mentioned it before), so now I'm thinking if I should play Blood Angles or Chaos Legions.
Anyway, here are some pictures of my work in progress.
A unit of Thousand Sons, using the Thousand Sons kit and Dark Angels robes. Theese used to be gold with blue robes, but I wanted to change it to the standard blue with cream-brown robes.
And here's the unit of Plague Marines I got. Painted like my Plaguebearers, with organge details, then washed black.
Anyone remember this figure? It's my conversion of Angron. Made him a long time ago, but I couldn't find a left hand, so I never finished him. Recently got Daemon Prince bits from a kind person who was working on a Prince in Games Workshop, and he kindly donated a sword and hand.
The figure is now sprayed, and will soon be painted.
In an hour, I leave for Sweden and won't be back until this weekend, and next week I'll play Apocalypse, so I don't expect to update the blog next week.
Have a nice summer everyone!
Cheers!

Work work!
I've had a very productive week. Not only did I finished my Plaguebearers, I'm nearly finished with the Horrors too!

The flesh is finished, and almost all details are finished, now only awaiting a wash and basing. While I painted my Plaguebearers I also swung my brush at Mammon, the Daemonprince of Nurgle, finishing some details on the model. Only thing left is the base, but I'll wait with that and paint all bases in one go.

I painted the wounds Dwarf Flesh and washed them in Baal Red to get a more fleshy feeling. Painting Blood Red, washing red and ardcoating just makes it a fake red colour that won't pass for blood. By the way, remember this figure?

This is my second Soul Grinder, wich I began painting when I still lived in my old apartment. It has recieved several highlights on the skin area, and now I just have to paint the spine and other small details. I am planning on getting a third Soul Grinder that will be converted a bit more than these other two.
I also just got my Monster Figure Case that I ordered, and it is just big enough to fit An'ggrath!

As a big bonus, the Games Workshop staff told me that there will be a Dark Eldar Apocalypse game this saturday. I intend to make it a Chaos Daemons Apocalypse game! Using Uraka the Warfiend as Skarbrand, and proxying Mammon as Ku'gath the Plaguefather i aim to field a Tetragon of Darkness! So, four Greater Daemons with one unit each, two Soul Grinders and a Daemon Lord should be enough to intimidate my enemies. Maybe I'll even throw in a Prince or two, and if I manage to get my Seekers based I will also field the Outriders of the Brazen Host.
So next week is pretty obvious: Apocalypse battle report!
Until then, Cheers!!

Reinforcements!
More reinforcements from my old gaming club in sweden! Visited my parents this weekend again, and I took the opportunity to get my daemons I still had lying around in my old club. Behold the daemons of Tzeentch!

I created theese a when I just had startde with 40k (again), and I am very happy with the results. The fact that they are awsome in a game of 40k is a huge bonus.

This Lord of Change I named Duamatef, wich is a name of an Egyptian God. The entire right leg was scultped in greenstuff, and also parts of the arm, his back and of cource the singlet. Never heard of a sorcerer who discards his robe for a singlet. Imagine Gandalf in a wifebeater :)

The second Daemon is a Prince, wich I named Amon, wich I also assume is Egyptian.
This prince is one of my best work. I used the Nightbringer as a base, added a carrion bird head, sculpted the hood, added pegasus wings and switched the scythe for Ahriman's black staff.
With theese figures in my collection I now only need a Great Unclean One to field a Tetragon of Darkness in Apocalypse. Speaking of Apocalypse, I just finished an Armylist and I think my goals have become quite clear. Here's my "What I need list":
*1 Great Unclean One
*1 Herald of Slaanesh
*1 Fateweaver
*1 Masque of Slaanesh
*1 Soul Grinder
*5 Pink Horrors
When this is aquired and painted, I will have no less than 7 Formations and Legendary Units for Apocalypse(!!!) and the list will reach about 7000 pts!!!
And when you see the list of what I need, you can see that it's really not that much. The downside to this army will be Fateweaver and his Council of Despair. It's awsome to field Fateweaver and a group of Damon Princes, but the entire army looses the Daemonic Assault ability, and that makes several units, formations and icons useless! Why would I pay extra to get a group of Soul Grinders that can't deep strike? Why would I have Icons? Can I keep formations and units in reserve and deep strike them in turn 2+
Will have to check theese things up before I get the ugly bird.
Untill next week!
Cheers!

Sir-paint-a-lot
About 50-60 figures has to be painted, and I feel that I have managed to paint a lot in the last few days. 20 Daemonettes, 20 Horrors, 10 Plaguebearers, and I figured while I'm at it I might as well paint my Herald of Nurgle and my Nurglings.

The Daemonettes has been painted with the basecoat and washed once (as I said in the last entry), and now they also recieved the first highlight.

The Horrors are at the same stage: basecoated, washed and highlighted once. I painted them using the guide on GW's website. Dwarf flesh, Baal red wash, Dwarf Flesh + Red gore highlight, then mix in bleached bone for each succesive highlight. A little warning; Dwarf flesh doesn't go well with the spray gun, so you will have to paint them by hand, and you will probably have to paint several layers. I had to use 3 :(

The Changeling will be painted as the Horrors, and not as painted by GW. I like the way GW has painted this little fella', but I want to show that he in fact is a Pink Horror, and since you have to purchase him as an upgrade, I wanted him to fit into the squad.
And sorry, still no pictures of the Plaguebearers. You will have to wait untill the next issue of the Astronomican (or become a close friend with me). But I can tell you that they are comming along really nice, and I'm very satisfied with them. Fact is that I'm so satisfied with them that I'm planning on buying 10 more to get a full squad :)
Looking forward to this weekend because this saturday is the release of the new Monstrous Figure case :)
See you next week!
Cheers!
