As soon as this was released, I knew I had to have it. Currently the shade is drying, after that I'm painting it in the same colours as my Metalica army!

Took me about 2 months to finish. My 3000 points Mechanicus army from Forge World Metalica!

Ok, it's done, but there are still some details I could add. For example, different colours on the cables, weathering, and this one I hate: Highlight the black armour (gun casing etc).
So although it's waaay past tabletop, I might still work with this army for another while, so more pictures are coming!
What's next though? Blood Angels, Black Legion? Rumours say that Tzeentch is going to get a Daemonkin Codex soon, let's hope for that!

WIP - Mechanicus: The last push!

 It's very late, so the light in my place is pretty bad for takin pictures, but here's what I've been able to do this weeken (one day before the wife comes back from her workshop/vacation).

Highlights and transfers to go! And armour on the Knight...

The Infiltrators are looking pretty good!

Don't wanna jinx it by making promises, but *hopefully* I'll be done with my Mechanicus force for my next post next week. This will be entered in the Armies on Parade in September (at least I think it's September).

So the question now is what to do next? Either it's Blood Angels, Black Legion, Zone Mortalis or Realm of Battle... any tips?

WIP - Mechanicus based

There we have it, 19 more robes/cloaks and I've painted base, shade and at least one layer on every figure. After this stage, I only have the highlights left and my army is finished!

The Kastellans are not only beautiful figures, they're badass in game as well!

What happens next? I already have an idea of allies I want to add to the force. It will be good for my games, and have a cool background story!

WIP - Adeptus Mechanicus, getting closer!

Had my second game with my new army - I will not play my Mechanicum formation against a lower tier codex again. I've never felt so bad for winning. At least now I know that even I can win in 40k.

I really enjoy painting them though, that's probably why I'm almost finished with the army. Got my hands on a couple of more Arc Rifles, so my Rangers will have 3 of them instead of the Sniper.

WIP - Adeptus Mechanicum

Had my first game ever with my Mechanicum force. Other than making some tactical errors, I'd argue that this is an awesome army!

Not even close to finished...

I went for the Forge World Metalica colours, white robes, creamy coloured armour plates and red details. The Imperial Knight looming in the "distance" will sport the same colours. Have no idea why, I just think it will look great in this colour scheme.

Blood and Fire!

Long time since last post, so not wasting time.

The Battle for Zarona campaign has been cancelled. Not all players were able to play a game per week (it IS a big commitment), and getting everybody together once per week to claim tiles etc is also a hassle. Well, we tried, it was great fun, the system works (most important), and now we're ready to do another campaign that doesn't rely on players getting together all the time.

In the meantime:

Had a game against a newfound friend, Per-Kenneth who brought his nurgle infested Iron Warriors warband: The Rust Warriors. Tried my Blood Angels with Astra Militarum for fun. Heavy flamers in drop pods seems to do the trick!

With that in mind, I've started assebling and painting more Blood Angels: Heavy flamer-wielding tactical marines, fully upgraded vanguard squad and of course, the new terminators. Karlaen needs his bodyguards, one who is carrying the company standard of course.

But most interesting thing on my table right now has to be my brand new army: Adeptus Mechanicus.
I went for the big bundle from the Games Workshop website (for the exclusive Formation Datasheet of course), with some additional units (Destroyers, more Vanguard and mainly; an Imperial Knight).

Hopefully I will be able to get enough finished for Armies on Parade in September!
