Men of Catacha!

My Catachan Kill Team looks like its expanding. All the bits I had turned into three full squads, and pretty soon I have to expand it into a full army.

This first model is Sergeant Krauser. I used a banner arm, cut off the pole and replaced it with a catachan sword to make him look like a laid back hard ass.

The second model is one of my snipers. I cut the skull under the foot, and after I had glued him to the base I found a small stone that fitted under the foot. I used the medic head, since I liked the bionic eyes (although I actually hate the head).
The reason I'm late with this weeks blog is because I just got home from my vacation. For now I will focus on my Blood Angels, so expect a couple of entries about them in the future.
Until then, cheers!

Catachan Devils

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my first Kill Team: Sergeant Harker and the Catachan Devils!

Finally finished, and it took me only about a week to paint these 10 figures. The team consists of Gunnery sgt. Harker, 2 veterans with shotguns, 2 with lasguns, one with sniper, one with a flamer, one with a meltagun, two upgraded to a heavy weapon team with a heavy bolter and one scout sentinel.

The sentinel was painted in the same palette as the rest of the unit, and it's base was decorated with small jungle trees, ruins and carnivourus plants.

The heavy weapon team also had its base extra decorated, due to its size. When you're basing a large base, I find it important to decorate it as much as possible, and varying the sand. I'll make a tutorial about basing in the future.

I already had time to play a game of Kill Team while I was visiting my parents. My team of specialists encountered a group of Ork Boys, wich crushed my team. Revising the army list, I found that Harker is a good Character, but in Kill Team he just isn't worth his points, especially not when you can get relentless to your heavy weapon team. The ability to infiltrate wasn't to useful either, since it's a pretty small table.

So, Harker is moving to another battlezone, and he's bringing the sentinel with him. Replacing him will be Sergeant Krauser, and another unnamed sergeant who's in control over another veteran squad. So, I'm hoping 20 veterans with maxed-out upgrades will be able to match a Kill Team focused on numbers instead of skills. Now, enjoy the rest of the pictures.

Until next week, Cheerios!

Harker - Neck sold separetly

I finally got assembled Sergeant Harker and the Sentinel! Theese figures have also been basecoated. I have started to paint the rest of the team, and I will show pictures in a couple of weeks.

This weekend Im visiting my old gaming club for a 40k sunday. I will be playing lots of 40k and hopefully some kill team. I also hope to find my old figures to bring with me home.

A friend wanted me to paint 4 characters for his Fantasy army, and he's paying well. I'm taking this
offer and will post pictures of the finished figures.

I will also post some pictures of some winning entries I've made recently in various painting
competitions.

But for now, the only thing I have to show is Harker and the Sentinel.

Enjoy!

Kill Team

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I had tried playing Kill Team. This is a special mission from the booklet Battle Missions. I really loved playing Kill Team in 4th ed, and was really happy to be able to play it again. Now I just had to assemble my lads!

When I testplayed Kill Team I only had Chaos Daemons in my arsenal. My Blood Angels weren’t
assembled yet. I managed to include 3 Flamers of Tzeentch and 6 Daemonettes in my 200pts budget. This proved to be a great team! The massing Daemonettes with their fleet ability along with the Flamers jump infantry rule and Breath of Chaos gifts turned out to be a good combination. I played two games, the first against Space Wolves and the second one agains a Necron Kill Team, and I managed to score a victory agains both of them. When I was done I went home and went through my codexes in search for the perfect Kill Team. I was in the mood for a Space Marine Sternguard unit and converting them into a Deathwatch Kill Team. Seems perfect, don’t you think? That was tempting, but I went for a Catachan Veteran Squad with Sergeant Harker in charge. I bought a Command Squad and started converting my models. I went for a good combination of long range weapons, multi-shot heavy weapons, anti-personel assault weapons and anti-tank weapons.

I also ordered Sergeant Harker, since he is a Mail Order Only figure. When I got the figure I asked the GW staff if his neck comes in a separate blister. They just laughed at me, how rude! The sentinel was very tricky to assembly, but I figured it out. I assembled the entire thing except the pilot and right armor plate since I want to paint the interior and pilot. Will upload pictures of them when they are properly based.

These fellows will be The famous Catachan Devils, with a lot of tatoos and camo. More on this as it developes.

Untill then, Cheeeeeers!!
