I'm sorry...

First of all, I would like to apologize. I would like to apologize for not posting for a long time, and I would like to apologize to my opponents that I've played against lately.

I missed an important part in Codex: Chaos Space Marines, and it turns out that Plague Marines are not at same initiative as regular Chaos Marines, meaning that several of my opponents would have got to strike before me, instead of at the same time...

With that in mind, how am I supposed to make my squads survive longer? Easy! Add more bodies! I've put together enough figures to make my 7-man squads into 10-man squads. This should help them endure a punch in close combat.

I think the Forge World conversion kit is absolutely wonderful, but after you've put together 20 of them you run the risk of making a lot of them look the same. Therefor, I tried to convert them as much as possible. Here, for example, is a Plaguemarine reloading his bolter, using parts from the new Space Marine Tactical squad.

Using part from the same kit, I also made a Plaguemarine ready to throw a grenade.

As for my champion - If he's going to strike last, he might as well strike hard! I'm switching out my power sword wielding champion for this fellow - wielding a deadly two-handed power axe! If you can't spot all the parts, I can tell you that I used arms from the Blood Angels Death Company and the axe head from the Nurgle Lord from the Warhammer range. The legs are MKII legs from Forge World.

As for my other projects, I've just got myself a Realm of Battle board! I want to customize it to give a unique look, but I still want it to fit the bag for easy stowaway...

The solution: magnetized buildings! This is one of my spare plates (from the expansion set) that I bought ages ago, and I tried to magnetize the Manufactorum to it with Great Success (weird smile and thumbs up)! This tile will replace the flat tile with the skull pits. Although I think the skull pits looks great, it doesn't fit my idea for my board.

So the skull pit was covered up with a moonscape crater, and 2 set of Shrine of the Aquila was built around the crater to give the impression of a destroyed shrine. The crater is glued in place, but the Shrine will be magnetized.

That's all for today, I will try to post more frequently, but no promises...

Cheers!!

How!? Just how!?

First off, a small greeting to my dear friend Jan-Öivind, who somehow manages to take the oldest Codex in the game, and make a killer list.

How? Just how does he do it? Being a powergamer has its perks. Quite a fun game though, as I didn't suffer the rape and humiliation as I do when we play Grey Knights VS Chaos (any form).

Diagonal set up with one objective each, I decided to field my Blood Angels instead of my current favorite: Daemons with Chaos Marines allies. I never expected him to field so many vehicles, so my missile launchers and flamers where quite a waste of points... The whirlwind, although it's quite cheap didn't do much either. Hats off for my Chaplain and Death Company who owned the assault phase the entire game, until they finally were stopped by a Dreadnought. The Chaplain held his ground for quite some time and even managed to damage it a lot.

Since we played double FOC I went a little crazy on the Elite choises. Tycho, a Librarian and Sanguinary Priest joined a 10 man unit of Sternguards. They managed to dish out some serious hurt before they perished, figure by figure.

After the game I was in the "red" mood, so I immediately converted a devastator sergeant for my heavy bolter squad. Manged to put the Forge World vox-head into good use.

I really liked the librarian in the game, casting blessing to the left and right. Although I love the librarian, I don't really like the current figure I play. It's cast in resin and I can't seem to get the Force Axe right. It's bent, and although I know how to bend it, I don't seem to be able to bend it the right way. So I gave up the fight and converted my own. The parts for this figure have been in a separate bag for a long time, just awaiting my attention. The result was good, and now I'm thinking about making one with jump pack, bike or terminator armour.

Next post will be about the Black Legion, and after that I have a battle report in mind!

Until then!
Cheers!

From the Forge!

I went by the post office yesterday to pick up my package from Forge World, here's what I got:

Besides three packs of weathering powders, I also got a Death Guard Terminator conversion kit. These will fit in nicely with my other Death Guards.

With Typhus and the one I already got from a bits site, that makes the squad an even 7 (Yes, 7 is suddenly an even number).

And I also got myself a conversion kit for Noise Marines which I will equip with close combat weapons and mount in a Rhino. I will try to take advantage of the high initiative and make good use of the Champion's Doom Siren.

And for you who remember the Iron Hands captain I converted a while ago, I made some modifications to the figure. I wasn't too happy with his equipment. A chainsword isn't something for a captain, so I gave him a Relic Blade, made out of a Blood Angels thunder hammer and the axe head from an Engineseer.

That's it for today, now I will try to get something painted.

Until next time!
Cheers!

Iron Hand spare captain

Had a lot of bits left after I worked on some Blood Angels, so I decided to make a Iron Hands captain.

Tried to max out the amount of bionics on the figure, and I think it turned out quite well. The legs are Forge World parts, while the torso and his left shoulder pad are from the Iron Hands conversion kit.

Too bad I won't be using this figure... But you never know!

Until next time!
Cheers!

Random Conversions

I have a lot of things in progress right now. I've sprayed my Chaos Fortress and plan on using it when I host an Apocalypse game at my local Games Workshop store. My Sons of Keraz have gotten more Chaos Marines, and my Blood Angels are getting more details painted, and I even got some more marines for my huge army!
But now, I want to show my random conversions I've made recently. Enjoy!

I had a couple of spare parts left and decided to make this terminator with an assault cannon. I intended to use it as a spare heavy weapon for my terminator squad, but I think now that it will be part of a new squad.

And a new squad means a new sergeant. The cloak is from the chaos lord set (see below), while his huge axe is a blade encarmine from the Sanguinary guard box.

And one figure that I have been missing is a techmarine. Using spare parts, the helmet from the Storm Raven kit and a thunder hammer from the Death Company, I made my own Techmarine.

And here's the infamous Lord Keraz! To mimick the look of my Enforcers (actually it's the other way around...), I gave the Lord a death mask with the halo trimmed down. As a Daemonweapon, I used a Bloodletter Hellblade to represent a Bloodfeeder.

And not only did I make 5 terminators as his bodyguards, but I also made a Sorcerer in terminator armour to boost this already deadly squad.

That's what I have for now.
Until next time!
Cheers!!
