Dark Apostle of Nurgle

I enjoyed converting this miniature so much that it only took me a day to paint it!

And with this character I am now able to field The Lost and the Damned formation from Traitor's Hate. Now I want more cultists though...

Cheers!

MOAR DEATH GUARD!!!!

After suffering a severe dehydration from drooling all over Traitor's Hate, I've returned to the painting table. I've been a good lad and "started" working on the rest of my Death Guard (or finally decided to finish my work, more likely...)

3rd and final Helbrute along a squad of possessed.

Dark Apostle of Nurgle!

Going through all the formations, I've settled for a couple of them: The Chaos Warband is really tempting, although that means I won't be able to field my Plague Marines in the same formation. The Lost and the Damned formation is really cool, and I can still add Typhus and up to 4 units of Plague Marines in the same detachment - the only thing I was missing was a Dark Apostle, which, after a lot of brainstorming, soulsearching and discussing with my friends, I managed to convert myself!
Doesn't have a name yet, I just know I REALLY look forward to painting him!

Until next time!
Cheers!

YOU MUST BUILD ADDITIONAL DEATH GUARD!

As promised, here are the new Death Guard units I mentioned in the last post (pictures turned out awefully yellow...).

Raptors - Not planning on using them, I just really wanted to make this conversion.

Third Helbrute is finally getting painted.

Just another unit of Plague Marines... or is it? Maybe I have great plans for this unit?

No Chaos army is complete without a couple of possessed marines, right?

The Shaman is also getting painted.

Nurgle Bikers!

My Nurgle bikers got downsized from 5 to 3 man. The other 2 is getting a Champion of their own, and all bikers are getting fancy new bases!

New and improved Siphistus! (left)

Although I've always liked the Daemon Prince on the right, it has always bothered me that it wasn't converted, so I made a new one. I now have no idea what to do with the spare one...

And currently I'm working on an entry for The Fang painting competition. Since I am a Games Workshop employee, I can only participate in the Staff category, which will be voted on by the people, so I really need to make this stand out!
Will show off this entry in a near future!

Until then!
Cheers!

WIP - Cultists

GW has forced my hand yet again! With all the awesome new Khorne releases, I knew it was only a matter of time before I would start a Khorne Daemonkin army.
And Skarbrand turned out to be the tipping point.

Khornate Cultists - Supposed to be Pit Fighter Gladiators.

And tomorrow is the big day, where Per-Kenneth and I will play our huge 3000pts Nurgle game! As promised, here are the pictures of my cultists I've been re-doing for my Death Guard army.

Nurgle Cultists - only showing 10/20.

Plague Zombies - only showing 10/20

So next week I'll post the full battle report from the game!

Until then.
Cheers!

WIP - Preparing more Death Guard!

Seems like I've been bitten by the Nurgle-bug again, because I've started adding more stuff to my already huge force! 500 points more and I'll have a 10.000 point list!

The Shaman - Nurgle Sorcerer in terminator armour.
Converted using parts from the Blightkings and Maggoth Lords.
Awaiting Shoulder pads from Forge World.

The Shaman's base has a little ritual going on, with a spell familiar watching his back.

And my third (fourth with my Ferrum Infernus) Helbute!
Awaiting arms from Forge World.

In a weeks time I have a huge 3k game againts Per-Kenneth. PK also plays Nurgle Chaos Marines, so it's going to be very interesting to see the outcome of this game! It will basically boil down to "who knows this army best". I have finished a couple of new units for this game, which I will show off next week before the game, with a nice battle report in 2 weeks time.

Until then!
Cheers!

Gallery update!

This week I've updated my Death Guard gallery with a squad of Terminators. All are armed with combi-meltas and power weapons, except for one chainfist.

Death Guard showcase

It's now 2 weeks ago since I posted last.
I'm working hard on my Black Legion, but I've promised myself to leave that army at work so I have a full 40k army ready for any occasion. And the BLack Legion is basically the only thing I want to work with right now, no inspiration for any other army at the moment (although I think I will be working a bit with my Blood Angels soon).

Well, I have to show something, so here's some showcase pictures of the Death Guard army in full strength!

Unpacking the army from my new Crusader Case.

The full Death Guard army, minus the daemons.

Necrosius the Undying and Golesh the Everliving.

Prince Siphistus and the daemonic engines of the Death Guard.

That's it for today! Next week I have planned a game against Helge Dahl, so next weeks update will probably feature a lot of gaming pictures.

Cheers!

Gallery Update! - Death Guard

And here's a late post due to celebrating my 30th birthday.
Today sees yet another update to my Death Guard gallery. This time the ranks are joined by 2 Helbrutes and a Blight Drone.

WIP - More Death Guard

Even though I consider myself done with my Death Guard army, I keep adding units to it. Maybe because I love the result, or enjoy painting white, or love the conversion work?
Or maybe because they're really fun to play?
Anyway, here's a small collection of what I've been working on recently:
A second Helbrute (third if you count the Ferrum Infernus) and a "regular" squad of Nurgle Terminators.

WIP - Blight Drone

Ooops! Almost forgot to update the blog today (due to a gaming tournament).
Finally got around to painting my Blight Drone, still need to do some work on the base though.

WIP - Ferrum Infernus

Gallery update!

Today I've been taking pictures of my completed Death Guard army, all with the new 32mm bases!

Typhus got a new, scenic base, and all the figures got a wash to make the white armour more dirty.

I've added the pictures in a new format, and I've also added three new units: a Forgefiend, Daemon Prince and Plague Hulk!

WIP - Ferrum Infernus

So Rory just found his hobby inspiration and posted his progress on his blog (Some of my old terrain, if my eyes don't decieve me...). He has vowed to post twice per month, and Rik vowed to do the same.

I however, vowed to post every week. Some weeks I won't have much to show for, but I will at least have a Work in Progress picture to show!

So here we go, this weeks WIP - A Ferrum Infernus Dreadnought.

The Ferrum Infernus is basically a Venerable Dreadnought for Chaos Space Marines. The rules can be found in Imperial Armour 13. Since I use the Forge World Dreadnought as my Hellbrutes, I figured I should have a Possessed Dreadnought representing my Ferrum Infernus.

Until next week!
Cheers!

Happy New Year!!

A happy new year to you all! Hope your year is filled with wonderful new figures!

I've been working a bit on my Death Guard - it's time for some changes.
First of all, the figures needs 32mm bases, and secondly, I'm not very satisfied with the white armour. It's simply too bright.

Left: This is how the army currently looks.
Centre: This figure has been washed with a mix of Agrax, Athonian and Nuln Oil, thinned out with water and Lahmian Medium.
Right: The washed figure has been placed on a 32mm base.

I can clearly see the difference, and I intend to do this process on all my Death Guard figures, including tanks and walkers!

In other news, I just received my other 8 tiles of Zone Mortalis from Forge World!
As I write this, I have already primed 50% of the tiles, the second set still needs to be washed.
Back to the desk!

Cheers!

Death Guard Gallery

Today I will make a new tag in my blog - called Gallery.

This post is not finished, it will be updated as I add more units to my army.

But for now, here's my finished Death Guard Army!

Headquarters

Typhus, formerly known as Calas Typhon.

Lord of the Death Guard.

Lord Golesh, survivor from the Heresy era,
previous rank unknown, but possibly Centurion or Praetor.

Took command of the warband when his Lord Siphistus ascended to daemonhood.

Necrosius the Undying, Chaos Sorcerer.

Famous for his involvement in the Siege of Vraks, where he led a warband under the command of Arkos the Faithless.

The Grave Warden

Former sergeant of a Grave Warden squad (Heresy Era). As the last survivor, he has risen to the ranks of Lord, and has a small warband of his own. Carries a Toxic discharger (which I use as the Burning Brand of Skalathrax). Name has been long lost, now he just goes by the monicker "The" Grave Warden.

Siphistus

Daemon Prince of Nurgle. Previous Lord of the warband, ascended to daemonhood.

UNKNOWN
Daemon Prince known only as 'Reaper'. Several scholars belive this individual is none other than the Daemon Primarch Mortarion himself (and until Forge World decides to sculpt such a figure, who say it isn't!?).

Elites

The Deathshroud

Typhus' personal bodyguard. All of them are armed with combi-bolters and power scythes.

Terminator Squad

Armed with Combi-meltas.

Ferrum Infernus - The Everliving
Interred into the sarcophagus some time during the Horus Heresy.
Possessed by a Plaguebearer since *Unknown*.

Cholera, Helbrute

Became a Dreadnought pilot right before the legion's transformation.
Had he survived a day longer, Nurgle might have saved him. Instead, he is trapped forever in a machine.

Helbrute
The second Helbrute in my collection, weapon swap pending.
